This beaded glass lariat is versatile and can be doubled up as a choker. Feed one end through the lariat loop or both, for an interesting effect. I have added a 2-inch hand-crochet barrell bead from Brazil, lampwork glass floral hearts and a vintage flower to make this necklace truly unique. All in black to go from day to evening.

It was time for our sweet au pair, Erica, to return to college - gosh, the summer went by fast! I wanted to make her a versatile jewelry piece in colors of our beach vacation but would celebrate her religion. This glass lariat can work as a necklace, bracelet or belt. Thank you, Erica, we miss you!

It was a fun (and busy) way to wrap up the summer camp season at Middleburg with a very full American Girl Camp. The girls learned about water issues that affect girls their age in other countries (of course I would teach that!), learned how to do metal embossing, Chinese brush art, make a Zen garden, made homemade spa products and lots more! Eden taught the girls a themed dance each day and earned some shopping money helping me keep 22 girls in order this week!
We ended with a fashion show and mock slumber party and lots of hugs and exchanging of email addresses and phone numbers. I hope to see many of the gals back for the Fancy Nancy Tea Party and the Holiday camp!
I had a handful of silver-toned beads, all with their own story, and I couldn't wait to do something with them. Edelweis and pewter beads from Swarovski, faceted vintage beads from about the 1940s, crackled Czech glass, round spacers and a big 1.5" crochet over wood beads from Maceio Brazil.
I combined them all to make a great pullover necklace that would be just as stunning over a heathered grey sweater in the winter as it would a fun maxi dress in the summer. No clasp means no fuss, and you can knot the necklace or wrap it around your wrist for a different look. This one is appr. 33".

What a fun combination to make this angelic necklace. I love working with textures, and although there is some patterning here and there, I love beading "without looking" to see what I can come up with!
